Over the past 12+ years, while supporting learners across all primary year groups, I noticed that the public education system often failed to meet the diverse needs of many students for a variety of reasons.

After stepping away from teaching for a bit, I discovered that families were choosing to home-school their children in unprecedented numbers. Having previously home-schooled my youngest son for some of his high school years, I understood the challenges that come with balancing the roles of being both parent and teacher. 

I knew I wanted to help students who were “falling through the cracks” in the mainstream system, and I was determined  to find a way to work towards making a difference! After a lot of brainstorming and sharing ideas (lots of them!) with friends and family, I’m excited to introduce The Touring Teacher!
