Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How does The Touring Teacher fit into our homeschool routine?
My lessons slot easily into your weekly rhythm. Sessions act as a consistent anchor point that gives structure, inspiration and momentum to your child’s learning — without adding extra pressure to you. I provide guidance, activities and optional at-home suggestions that connect naturally to your homeschool flow.
Do I still count as my child’s teacher if they attend your sessions?
Absolutely. You remain your child’s primary educator.
My role is to walk beside you — offering professional teaching, planning and learning support that enriches what you already do at home. Think of me as your co-teacher, helping you feel confident and supported.
What ages do you teach?
I currently support primary-aged students (generally 5–12 years old).
Classes are grouped by age and stage to ensure the learning feels developmentally appropriate, calm and purposeful.
What is the mobile classroom like?
The caravan classroom is a cosy, warm and inviting space intentionally set up to help children feel calm, capable and ready to learn. It’s free from overwhelming distractions and full of hands-on resources, natural textures and gentle lighting. Parents often tell me their children feel instantly comfortable as soon as they step inside.
How many children are in each class?
Small groups of up to four students.
This ensures every child receives personal attention, builds confidence, and has space to learn at their own pace. It’s also a beautiful way for children to experience social learning without sensory overload.
What subjects or skills do you teach?
I teach the two core learning areas of literacy and numeracy.
Sessions also support learning habits like problem-solving, resilience, organisation, and confidence-building — always through fun, hands-on activities.
Do you provide assessments or reports?
Yes — I offer clear, parent-friendly feedback so you always know how your child is progressing. These insights can be incredibly helpful for homeschool moderation.
Do you offer one-off classes or term programs?
Our programs are by-the-term, based on the Western Australian public school terms of 10 weeks*
They consist of ongoing weekly lessons to support their broader homeschool routine. We also offer special workshops throughout the year.
We also have online-tutoring options that can be purchased on a casual basis, or by the term.
Can siblings attend together?
Yes — where ages and learning stages align. Many homeschooling families appreciate having siblings learn together when it’s suitable for their needs.
How do we get started?
Simply send an enquiry through the website. We’ll book a quick parent chat, organise a visit to the mobile classroom, and find the right session for your child. Easy, calm and supportive.
